As mentioned before, the Wilderness Hotel is the perfect place to stay if you want the closest access to the Water Parks. The Wild Waterdome is a 70,000 Square Foot Indoor Waterpark with the Largest Wave Pool in the US. There is a nice kiddie splash zone here as well but for the more adventurous, the Klondike Kavern or the Wild West Indoor Water Parks might be a better option. Each of these has a great place for the kids to enjoy all year long but there are also large Water Slides for the bigger kids and adults to enjoy.
If you visit in the Summer, you get the added bonus of taking in 4 Outdoor Water Parks. This will spread the crowds out a little more and makes the Water Fun adventure a little more inviting.

The overwhelming consensus of people who stay at the Wilderness Hotel Wisconsin Dells say it is a great place for Family. The Wilderness Resort is a massive complex and a perfect option for any time during the year. Although you have many different locations to stay, the Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort at Wisconsin Dells is one of the most popular. This is even more true during the Cold months when the Outdoor Water Parks are closed because the Wilderness Hotel is the closest place to stay to the Indoor Water Parks and Attractions.
Exclusive Guest Access
If you compare the Wisconsin Dells Wilderness Hotel to other properties, one thing that stands out is all of the Water Parks are Exclusive to the Guests paying for accommodations at this resort only. This is far from what you will find at many of the other Resorts in the Dells. Pay attention when booking and see if you are able to purchase tickets to the attractions if you are not a guest. Why is this important? Because the parks already get crowded enough as it is. If you open it up to the general public, it just makes it that much more packed.
Stay in the Middle
When you look at the Wilderness Hotel Wisconsin Dells from an overhead view, you notice that if you stay closer to the middle, near the large parking lot area, this will give you the shortest walking distance to all of the attractions.
Rooms and Suites - Some with Whirlpool Tub
The Wilderness Hotel in Wisconsin Dells has a number of different types of Accommodations for your family. If a more standard room will meet what you need, the Double Queen or King rooms are a great choice. Even these smaller spaces have a full 425 Square Feet of living space which is much roomier than a standard hotel. Additional space can be found in the Luxury rooms with an in-room Whirlpool and up to 800 Square Feet. Many of the rooms have a small balcony and you can even get them with a Fireplace if you would like. Internet access is not a problem because the entire Hotel has WiFi throughout the complex. None of the rooms at the Wilderness Hotel are equipped with a Kitchen but the suites do have a mini-fridge, counter-top, and microwave for your convenience.

Pros:
There are a lot of Reviews about the Wilderness Hotel Wisconsin Dells and for the most part, if you are visiting the Water Parks and have a family, this is a very good option to look at. The opinions of the guests are a little more varied than I would normally like but there are enough that absolutely love this place to check it out. Some of the positives are, the rooms are clean and well kept with a staff that is happy to help when there is a problem. The Resort is very large and if you have to travel between buildings there are enclosed walkways to keep you out of the weather. The rooms are quite large and have plenty of space to get around. This is a great place to spend time with the kids because there are so many things to do.
Cons:
There are also some negatives, and you will notice that several of the complaints are the same reasons that others really enjoyed this resort. Here is what I mean; there are a number of guests who have issues with the incredible size of the Wilderness Resort at Wisconsin Dells. It takes a lot of time to get from one place to another and everything is so spread out. Staying at the Wilderness Hotel Wisconsin Dells cuts down on some of this because it is closer to the attractions than some of the other Accommodations. Couples have complained that it is really not a great retreat for a Romantic Getaway but honestly, this Hotel Wilderness is advertised more like a Family Getaway. There are also some Customer Service issues but this can happen anywhere.

Fun things to do that do not require water
There are so many things to do at the Wilderness Resort that it will be nearly impossible to get it all in. From Go-Karts to Lazer Tag, Bumper Boats and even a Ropes Course. This is only a shortlist of what is available to you during your stay. Check out the Fun passes because you will have to pay extra to enjoy all of this fun. The Water Parks are included in your stay but everything else costs a little more.
Get a Fun Pass
If you are planning to do more than the Water Parks, look at getting a Wild Fun or Extreme Fun Pass. This will save you a bundle instead of paying for things separately. Make sure you understand what you are paying for. These passes are not unlimited, they have a certain number of attractions with each type of pass.
Pets
Pets are not allowed at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

There is an additional Resort Fee each night you stay at the Wilderness Resort.

Self-Parking is included with your nightly resort fee.
Fitness Center
The large fitness studio is located in the Sundara Spa with plenty of workout machines. The views of the property are beautiful as you look out the windows to the world around you.

Get ready to be pampered at the Sundara Spa. Book your time to get a massage, facial or even have your nails done. Call in and make your reservation as soon as you get your room. You will be glad that you did.
Laundry
You will not find a Laundry facility in your room or suite but there are a number of Coin-Operated Laundry rooms around the Wilderness Hotel Wisconsin Dells.
Dining
Unless you really want to eat outside of the Wilderness Hotel in Wisconsin Dells, you will probably be able to find just about everything you need. Of course, heading out to the local establishments will be nice just to get you away from the Resort for a while and might also save you a little cash along the way.
